Day 1

Westerdals Fjerdingen

I have always love to travel and explore, and I have lived before in Helsinki, Finland (where I am from), Stockholm, Sweden and Barcelona, Spain. Decision to move in Oslo, Norway to do my school exchange was easy from very beginning when I heard about this opportunity from my teacher at Arcada University of Applied Sciences. I work fulltime in Helsinki, but found a solution to do school exchange and work from Oslo with my laptop.

I arrived to Oslo at Monday Morning, one day before studies started. Unfortunately I didn't had a possibility to join an introduction day what was two weeks before teaching started, but I got some information of it from other exchange students.

My first experience of Westerdals Campus Fjerdingen was great; everything was well organized and I got right away my student card from reseption, what was also the pass to move in the building , and short tour in the campus. Stamp on student card was 600 NOK, and you will get student discount by having it. But it's good to know that student discount for the public transport is only for under 30-year-old students. In addition, all the student apartments are only for under 35-year-old students.

Campus is brand new, and looks very nice with its cafeteria, lounge areas, auditorios and classrooms. There's also a bar in cafeteria at Thursday and Friday afternoons.

English language teaching of Master studies was easy to follow and understand. Teaching included many group discussions what made it easier to get to know other students on the class. Exchange students was treated very well for my opinion, and people showed interest by asking questions and being friendly.
